I have founded INTOTHEWILDCAT in November 2019, and the idea came from my need to come back to Nature, initiate a healthy habit for myself and also to surpass myself while respecting the environment. For me, Nature is harmony and balance, it's not just a place to visit; it's where I grew up too and where I find my brightest energy and meditative solace.

 

Born in the untamed landscapes of High Provence (Southern-East of France) in the mid-80s, I inherited a deep love for Nature from my family from both sides. My roots run deep into the Southern French Alps from my grandpa on my mother side and so we were up to a lot of excursions in the mountains and around High Provence. Our true passion lies into mushroom foraging together! On the other part of my family, I also got the respect and passion for the terroir, as my grandparents were farmers and into wine and liquor making. I'm proud of these Earthen origins and you know what? That's only reinforced by my star sign, yes : I'm a virgo! :-) Terroir, Mountains, Nature, Energies, Rivers, Stones, Plants, Fauna, Mushroom foraging, Respect of the living, Sustainability, Wilderness, Outdoors are some of the terms and concepts that I was brought up with.

After I graduated in photojournalism (in another lifetime it seems!), I went to work and live for almost 10 years in a flat country : the Netherlands. I have loved the natural and laid-back character of the city of Amsterdam although I have tremendously missed my dear mountains! So in September 2016 after some life events, I chose to move to Barcelona where I knew I would find my way amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Catalonia. I became a Freelancer in Photography and, one day, I decided to retake true hiking for myself and to train for Compostela trail. At first I was on my own but soon many friends decided to join me... What began as solo Sunday hikes quickly evolved into a community of like-minded adventurers eager to explore the wild side of Catalonia with me! The idea of hiking to Compostela never saw the light though, I swear: I'm trained, but I have seen that THIS became a far more abundant journey than what I had ever dreamt of. While organising these hikes every Sunday, I have met more like-minded people and friends than I ever had in my entire life-journey!! And that's how "Intothewildcat" was truly born!
